Cultural and Social Center, University of Duhok

Cultural and social centre on the University of Duhok campus. The conference archive records it as the announced venue for days two and three of CSASE 2020, before that conference was moved online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Getting to Duhok: the University of Duhok is on the western side of the city, about a two-hour drive from Erbil International Airport (EBL). An airport taxi comes straight to the campus. On the campus: the centre is on the same high ground on the eastern side of the Maltta (Main) Campus, about 250 m north of the Convention Center, which was built beside it in 2011 and is still administratively part of it. It is the white building with the blue window frames and the raised tower over its entrance. Inside the building: Hall CSC 1 (75 seats) and Hall CSC 2 (85 seats), each with a podium and a stage, are the rooms used for scientific and academic sessions, workshops and seminars. With them are a meeting room of 40 seats with a projector and sound system for committee meetings and academic debates, a computer room of 30 machines for taught courses, a video-conference room, the large reception hall where guests are received and press interviews are filmed, a cafeteria for coffee breaks, and the centre's sports hall. It has run the university's public events since 1992.
