Conference story
ICTLCA-2023 was an international conference marking the 100th anniversary of the 1923 Treaty of Lausanne, held at the University of Duhok in Duhok, Kurdistan Region of Iraq on 4–5 October 2023. Its official site states it was organised by the University of Duhok's Bishkeci Center for Human Studies and Centre for Genocide Studies together with the Zakho Center for Kurdish Studies at the University of Zakho and the Kurdistan Institution for Strategic Studies and Scientific Research (KISSR), Sulaimaniyah. The call for papers was built around three themes: the problems of ethnic groups between Sèvres and Lausanne (1920–1923); the political, military, geopolitical and legal implications of the treaty; and its social and economic dimensions. Abstracts and full papers were accepted in English, Arabic and Kurdish and peer-reviewed by a Scientific Committee headed by Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Ali Al Boutani of the Kurdish Academy, Erbil, with the Organisation Committee headed by Assist. Prof. Dr Salim Jasim Hajy (University of Duhok).
