The University of Duhok's College of Veterinary Medicine hosted the First International Conference of Iraqi Veterinary Medicine Colleges on 9–10 April 2025 at the UoD Convention Center. It was organised with the veterinary colleges of Salahaddin-Erbil, Sulaimani, Mosul and Al-Qadisiyah universities and drew representatives of 14 veterinary colleges across Iraq. Of more than 100 submitted papers, 70 were accepted and presented in three parallel halls, spanning veterinary medicine, surgery, pathology, parasitology, microbiology, pharmacology and toxicology, and public health. Selected papers were published in a supplement of the Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences, and the second edition was announced for the University of Sulaimani in 2026.
